One of our north Indian missionaries incharge organized a special pastor’s meeting there. The meeting was planned to conduct for three day and many pastors were planned to join the meeting. Some special pastors and church elders traveled from Tamilnadu there for the meeting. I didn’t go there.
All the required money were sent by our missionary movement and some from our own money. Being a small organization, we are not able to spend more money lavishly.
North Indian missionaries incharge got little upset because of this. He didn’t express it to me. But he complained about me and my wife more than 3 hours to the guests went from Tamilnadu. He even said, we were taking the money which came for him. Also he requested everyone to pray for my salvation.
It was a very unpleasant situation for the Godly men, who went there to minister for God, based on my request. Though they felt bad for went there on request of a bad man like me. However they completed the ministry cheerfully.
In between, one minister among the them called and said, \u201c we feel sorry to know that you are not faithful in money matters. We pray that God will forgive you. But one request, tell that incharge, if there is any such issues, let them tell to us directly, we will pray for it. But let them not tell before the elders for they may back slide.\u201dI don’t know what to do and felt shame.
After a few days, the minister called me to his home. When I went there, I was not welcomed as well as they did during earlier visits. Unfortunately I have taken my wife and daughters with me. The man of God taught me a few hours about righteousness and criticized me for stealing money and building home after home and living a luxurious life. Before leaving he advised me to change hereafter and correct myself. Though reproach is common in public life, I felt bad to face it together with my family. We can’t blame that Godly man, for they enquire what he heard. Also I didn’t want to justify myself and to prove the north Indian incharge was wrong. Also I didn’t allow my wife to answer them. After this incident those Godly men kept some distance from me. I felt bad and the ministry was also affected. But that incharge showed himself as if nothing had happened. Considering the ministry, I also didn’t ask anything to him.
After a few years, we met an elder who visited north India earlier with the pastors. He didn’t speak much to me. But he enquired to my wife \u201c is my brother faithful in money matters, nowadays?\u201d. My wife didn’t know how to reply.
