A beggar was sitting near the King\u2019s palace. One day an announcement was given in the notice board that, the king announces for a great feast. And the invitation is only for one who wears king\u2019s dress. This beggar read the message and became sad, since he couldn\u2019t attend the feast due to his dress. Now he got an idea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He went to the palace and said to soldier, that he want to meet the king, the man went and got permission from the king and took him to the king. The king asked his reason for visitation and he told to the king \u201crespected king! I had read your invitation and I wish to participate in it but I don\u2019t have any king\u2019s dress, so please lend me your old king dress, so that I could attend the feast\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At once the king called the prince and said \u201cTake this man and give your dress to him\u201d. The prince did according to the king\u2019s command. He told the beggar that \u201cyou need not wear other dress as you have wore the king\u2019s dress\u201d. The beggar fell on his feet and thanked the prince.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Suddenly, the beggar remembered his old dress and so he took it and hide it under his hand. The feast was so good than his expectation. But he couldn\u2019t enjoy every dish, since his dress slipped often from his hand. Though the words uttered by the prince was in his mind, but he couldn\u2019t leave his old clothes. As the time passed, everyone\u2019s eye fall on the beggar\u2019s old clothes and they began to mock at him as \u201cold man with shred cloth\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As this beggar wore the king\u2019s dress, he enjoyed the pleasures of the palace. But he never left his shredded cloth. When he was nearing his death, the king came to see him. The king felt sorry for the beggar, since he couldn\u2019t leave his shredded cloth. At the same time, the beggar too cried thinking of his foolishness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We have been invited to the Christ family as a member and as a royal priest hood. We have to put away our old sinful dress and take the Christ\u2019s new dress and wear it. Then only we can enjoy the fullness of blessings which God has for us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTherefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new\u201d (2Corinthians 5:17)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
