We all know that during the end of 18th Century Rev.Ragland ministered in the southern parts of India. In his last days he suffered a lot and caught by disease, he bought portridge in his hat and drank, like wise he ministered for God and breathed his last in Sivakasi, Virudhunagar District. Still his grave stone is a testimony in Sivakasi town. \u201cA kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies\u201d (John 12:24), according to this verse many people have risen for Christ in Sivakasi town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sivakamiammal from Sivakasi was a secret Christian, as her husband didn\u2019t accept Christ, She lived from 1884, till 1939. She was a good prayer warrior and she carefully brought up her children for Christ especially she gave attention to her female children. She took baptism secretly and changed her name as Anbammal. She encouraged her female children to learn Bible from Elwin amma. As her husband was very pious man. She couldn\u2019t bring up her male children under Christ. She used to hide the Bible, prayer book, morning and evening devotion book in rice tin, paddy sack and read when her husband and children went out. She used to pray with some secret Christian woman for one hour daily. Due her ceaseless prayer her generation served God faithfully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anbuammal married her children to the Hindu family as her husband was a Hindu man. Because of Anbuammal\u2019s prayer and her daughter\u2019s prayer and on seeing their life, their husband\u2019s were saved. \u201cGlory to God\u201d Her 4th daughter Chellathai (1908 – 1983) learned bible from Elwin amma in her early age. She did her schooling till 2nd standard only, as she couldn\u2019t study. But she got first mark in bible lessons and got prize from Elwin amma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c….he who formed me in the womb to be his servant\u201d (Isaiah 49:5), according to this verse, God had chosen Chellathai ammal. She was a prayerful lady during her early age itself. When she was 14 years old she was married to a Hindu man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWomen submit to your own men, as to the Lord\u201d (Ephesians 5:22), according to this verse she obeyed her husband. Daily, while she was going to market, she visited her mother\u2019s house and she pray and worship with her mother and read the Bible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 1937, she got a minor accident when she was doing snacks. Her hand was injured severely and had a severe pain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chellathai amma\u2019s husband went to call for Guru to keep sacred ashes for her. But she went to her mother\u2019s house and prayed earnestly and went to the doctor for treatment. When the Guru was on the way to her home, with her husband, he stood far and proclaimed that Christ is with her and don\u2019t touch her. So he didn\u2019t touch her. Chellathai amma\u2019s husband was surprised and asked her, are you a Christian?. She said yes to him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
