The Victory over Farsi is an extra ordinary one for the Army of Alexander the Great and the conquest is well known. As Alexander fought the Farsi with great difficulty and won the battle. After their victory all that the soldiers did was loot all that they could reach out their hand to.

Everyone right from the commander in chief to the last soldier took hold of beautiful women to disgrace them. The groanings and screams of the women did not have any affect in the eyes of the soldiers.

But their cries and screams reached the palace of the ruler Alexander. Alexander called out all the soldiers to meet him immediately.

When the soldiers heard the command of their ruler – Alexander they left the women and rushed to meet Alexander at His palace.

When the ruler Alexander was addressing the soldiers, said “that, even he was attracted towards the beauty of the Farsi women and was destabilized in his mind. But he did not leave his self-control at his heart. “To me all the beautiful Farsi women look like the sculptures of art.”

He advised them to overcome the feelings and emotions while being with a woman and it is far better than conquering the enemy.

When the people of this fallen world have so much self-control over their emotions, feelings mind and hormones, how much more we who are living with an Eternal God and who are going to live with Jesus Christ our Lord forever should have self-control, over our minds, feelings, emotions and hormones?

My beloved young boys and girls during the youth stage of life there will be some hormone secretion in your body. But these hormone secretions will lead to certain attraction towards opposite sex which are natural.

But this has been given by God for a specific, special seasons of your life for you to enjoy. You should know at this stage (before marriage) how to have self-control of your emotions, feelings and mind. There is a Word of God, which can protect you from falling away. All you can do is guard your mind with this word.

I have Hidden your word in my heart so that I will not sin against you – Ps.119:11)

By giving thanks to God and glorifying Him for all his goodness – you can protect your mind from unwanted thoughts. As it is written in Rom.1:20, 21 and 28.

“For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.”

Romans 1:28 to 32 “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.

When you glorify God and give thanks to Him and also keep God in your mind, you can escape youthful lusts.

An uncontrolled mind, emotions and feelings will open the door for Satan to enter your heart – which is dangerous according to the verse from Prov.25:28

“Whoever has no rule over his own spirits like a city broken down, without walls.”
