Dear ones in Christ,
Our God reigns over the earth. He is the one who created the earth and the man. And He reigns over them. His reign is throughout the generations. King Darius said, “Every men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for He is the living God, and steadfast forever, and His kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and His dominion shall be even unto the end”. Our God has the authority over all the kings of the earth. His reign remains over the heavens and the earth forever. But Satan misuses the authorities. Satan and man take the glory of God. Peter and the other Apostles said, “We ought to obey God than man”. We have to honour and obey and walk under God’s authority.
Moreover, in Romans 13:1-3 Apostle Paul says “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? Do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same”. Authorities are given by God for good works. Many kind authorities are given. Such as, authority of the husband, authority of the parent, and the authority of the teachers are given to the mankind. But the authority of God and His place (Honour) cannot be given to anyone. And no one can take the authority of God.
God has the whole authority:
Isaiah 14:12-15 says about Lucifer, “I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.” Satan cannot take the authority of God. The Church belongs to God. and the reign belongs to God. Jesus Christ alone is the head of the Church. And God has put all things under His feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the Church (Ephesians 1:20-23). The one who captures the place of Jesus Christ is antichrist. Matthew 24:5, Jesus says, “For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many“. The position of Jesus Christ is very special. No one can take that position. In Revelation 19:16 we read, “And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS”.
The Authority of God’s Word :
God’s Word has the ability to deliver people. In John 15:26, we read, “But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me”. In 1 John 5:6, we read, “This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth”. The Spirit of God testifies through the God’s Word. In 2 Timothy 3:16, 17 we read, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works”.
In Psalms 119:142, we read, “Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth”. And in Psalms 119:157, we read, “I do not decline from thy testimonies”.
1) We cannot accept the doctrines which is contradictory to the Word of God.
2) We cannot oblige to the books which are added other than the 66 books in the Bible.
3) We should examine the words that are preached whether it is in accordance to the word of
God or not, and we should accept them as it is. (Galatians 1:8, Isaiah 8:20, Philippians 2:9,
10, 11). In Isaiah 8:20, we read, “If they speak not according to this word, it is because there
is no light in them”. They won’t rise up when Jesus Christ comes. They don’t have light in
them. In Psalms 138:2, it is written, “For thou hast magnified they word above all thy name”.
The Church Pastors has the authority:
In Joshua 1:8, it is written, “This book of Law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success”.
We should obey the Pastors. Pastors are needed to edify the Church, perfect the Saints and for the full growth in maturity. (Ephesians 4:11) In Hebrews 13:17, it is written, “Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls”. 2 Corinthians 5:20 says, they are ambassadors of Christ. So we should obey the authority of the Pastors.
We should obey the good characters:
When Apostle Paul rebuked the high priest, he said, I don’t know that he was the high priest: for it is written, Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy people. Laban said, it is not be so done in our country, to give the younger before the first born. So Leah was given instead of Rachel. We should not do anything against the custom and tradition. We should obey each other as per the place demands. We should obey the higher authorities.
My dear friends! God’s authority is above all. And we should obey them. Children should obey their parents. Believers should obey their Pastors. We should obey the Word of God. We should obey the Holy Spirit. We should obey our conscience. We should obey good traditions. And we should obey higher authorities! Hallelujah!
