Jesus Christ, the messiah died on the cross for us, as God showed to the prophet Daniel. The Israelites could not accept that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, had come as the son of a poor carpenter. They can’t recognize that Jesus Christ came to redeem the people and give His life for them . They can’t understand that God sent his son to this world out of His love. They totally deny the fact that Jesus Christ came to earth out to be humble and to give His life. They expected the Messiah to be the one who would bring about a real kingdom for Israel like David. Verses on the first coming of Jesus Christ through the prophets were as a unsolved riddle. They tried to know God by their own knowledge. The Messiah who came for them went unnoticed. Only by humbling before God and following in the footsteps of the Holy Spirit can we learn about God, the Son, Jesus Christ, and the things of God.
Alas ! they neglected the Lord Jesus Christ and confessed to be crucified on the cross. They neglected the love of God and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the Messiah. So, the arm of God which protected them left them with a grief . They were given into the hands of their enemies. The church and Jerusalem was conquered by the Roman in 70 AD. Knowing this earlier, Jesus Christ wept seeing Jerusalem.
Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it, saying, “If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes” (Luke 19:41,42)
Jesus Christ hoped that at least at last minute, the Israelites will repent. But they did not know the whereabouts of the Messiah who had come to seduce them. No regrets. So they were taken captive by the enemy and taken captive everywhere. They experienced the persecution. God did not leave them. He remembered them.
The fulfillment of the promise and the coming
The Israelites were scattered all over the world. They also suffered greatly, especially during World War II. Jewish mothers in the midst of persecution will look at their children and say on the verge of death that the Messiah will give us a homeland anyway. God remembered the vow He made to Abraham. Just as the Lord saw the tribulation that Israel suffered at the hands of the Egyptians and delivered it from the hands of Pharaoh, so the land of Israel blossomed after the end of World War II as the fig tree blossomed. The promise made to Israel was fulfilled. Centuries later God’s promise was fulfilled. The joy of the nations of Israel was immeasurable. The coming of the people of Israel to their land is a sign of coming. Jesus Christ said that the coming of the Lord is near when the land of Israel will blossom like a fig tree.
“Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near.” (Matthew 24:32)
Israel is thriving today. In 1967, Jerusalem came into the hands of Israel. Is growing in every way. All of this is a clear sign that the coming of Jesus Christ is near. Therefore, we will be ready for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Yes, Jesus Christ is coming soon!
