“And the Spirit and the bride say, come. And let him that heareth say, come. And lethim that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely”.
(Revelation – 22:17)
The Holy Spirit and the Holy Saints are calling you. Why are they calling you? They are calling so that you might take part in the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. They are calling you so that you might take part in the marriage of the Lamb. This calling is a Holy calling. Blessed is he who hears this voice and get prepared.
Jesus Christ called us to be saved. He redeemed those he called, then sanctified them, and protects them till the end. God’s love is immeasurable. When we were sinners, Jesus Christ called us, saved us and is protecting us till this very day. When I was still unknown about Jesus Christ, He came in search of me and called me. When my whole family was suffering from diseases, Jesus came in search of me and called me. In the starting, I went to a prayer meeting.
There the people prayed for me. And that prayed moved my heart. That gave me immense joy and happiness in my heart. Following that, I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Saviour. My life got changed. The Jesus Christ who called me is protecting till today.
But the calling about which we are meditating now is also such a calling. Still, in particular, this is a special calling to take part in the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ called you when He saved you, in the same way He is calling you to take part in His coming. What are the qualities required to take part in the coming of Jesus Christ? We are going to meditate about this.
We should be sanctified .
The Holy Spirit is calling us daily to get prepared for the coming of Jesus Christ. Not only that, he is calling us through His saints also. We are compassed about by so great a cloud of saints and are encouraging us to finish our race victoriously. How much true is it, that the Holy Spirit and the bride are calling you! What should we do to get prepared? “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ”. (1 Thessalonians 5:23).
We should keep ourselves Holy. You should keep your spirit and soul holy. How can a man keep himself holy? When we depend upon our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, we get sanctified.
How much big our sin might be, Jesus Christ is the propitiation for our sins. Jesus Christ came as a living sacrifice to bare our sins and redeem us from our sins. Only the Blood of Jesus Christ helps the believers to live a holy life. So only Jesus said to his disciples, this is my body which is broken for you. Take, eat; do this in remembrance of me. We remember the death of Jesus Christ.
When we take the bread in the communion in our church, we remember, this is the body of Jesus Christ, which is broken for me. When we take the wine, we remember this is the blood which is shed for me. This remembrance and meditation makes us one with Jesus Christ and His sufferings. Because of this we become holy. Yes! The blood of Jesus Christ washes us from all our sins and sanctifies us. Always meditate upon the sufferings and the death of Jesus Christ. Holiness will remain in your life.
Holy Spirit, who sanctifies .
“But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the
Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth”. (2 Thessalonians 2:13) We are sanctified by the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit is in the presence of the Father in heaven. After Jesus suffered and died and rose up and went to heaven, when He asked the Father, the Holy Spirit was poured upon all the believers. As Jesus Christ is not in the world now, it is the Holy Spirit who lives in us and with us, in the place of Jesus Christ and leads us according to the words of Jesus Christ. He leads us in the truth. He leads in the path of Holiness. We cannot live a holy life by our own strength and self. When we are lead by the Holy Spirit, we are lead towards the holy life. “Yes! Jesus Christ is going to come soon. The time is near. So be vigilant. He is faithful to keep you holy so that he can take you when he comes. The one who is calling you for the coming of Jesus Christ is faithful. He will do it the same way. Amen!
