Beloved in Christ,

Our God doesn’t Change. HE is an unchanging God. The seasons, the times, the circumstances, the people, and the promises they made change. Our God is faithful in His promises. The heavens and the earth will change but His word stands forever. “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose”. Romans 8: 28 We need not be afraid, suspicious, or anxious. This God is the one who can save us to the end. We will see His glory in our lives as we abide in His love.

The writer of the book of Hebrews in the New Testament has recorded the following scripture in Hebrews 13:8,

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and for ever.”

Based on this scripture, let us study from the Word of God – about this unchanging nature of our God.

1.            God’s love is unchanging

2.            God does not change His mind- Our God who made the promise will keep it

3.            God’s unfailing love for you will not be shaken. The covenant of peace and grace will remain.

4.            God is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. The blood of Jesus is sure to purify our conscience, and it will not change.

5.            The gifts of grace and His calling are unchanging.

6.            Every good gift and every perfect gift is from the Father.

1. God’s love is Unchanging:

In John chapter 13, before the Passover, Jesus knew that His time had come to leave this world and go to the Father, and He loved His people to the end, just as He loved His own in this world. Jesus, being conscious that the Father had put everything into His hands, and that He came from God and was going to God. Got up from table, put off His robe and took a cloth and put it round Him. Then He poured water into a basin and was washing the feet of the disciples and drying them with the cloth He had with Him. Jesus washed the feet of Judas Iscariot who betrayed Him. Jesus called Judas friend while he was betraying Him with a kiss. Jesus’ love is impartial. God’s love is unchanging.

It is our duty to love the LORD our God with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our strength, and with all our mind.

2. Promise Keeping God

Numbers 23:19 says, “God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it? or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good?”

Our God wants to bless the Israelite. For there is no sorcery against Jacob, nor any divination against Israel. The Lord God of Israel is with them.  Our Lord says, “No weapon formed against us shall prosper”.

(a) I Samuel 15:29 Samuel told Saul that the Majestic and Triumphant God of Israel will not lie nor repent: for He is not a man, that He should repent.

(b) Genesis 28:15 God of Israel spoke to Jacob in his dream that ‘I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of’.

(c) Job 33:14 “For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not.”

(d) Hosea 11:9 “I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city.”

3. The Covenant of Peace and Grace will Remain same:

Isaiah 54:10 “For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.”

I Corinthians 11:25 “After the same manner also Jesus took the cup, when He had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of Me.”

We have made a covenant with Jesus Christ that we are united with His death. We shall be steadfast in God’s love until our death. The covenant that Jesus Christ made with us will remain forever.

4. The Blood of Jesus Purifies our Conscience:

Hebrews 9:14 “How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” How true it is!

5. For God’s Gift and His calling are unchangeable:

Romans 11:29 For God’s gift and His call are irrevocable.’

God is faithful and He is able to lead us till the end.

6. Every Good Gift and every Perfect gift is from the Father

James 1:17 “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”

God gives gifts without any partiality to everyone.

Dear friend who reads this New Year message, the Lord is the same yesterday and today forever. God is steadfast in His love. He is faithful in fulfilling the promises He has given us.

The covenant of peace and grace stand forever. God will never leave us and forsake us until He fulfills His will in our lives. He is powerful to save us.

Let us be faithful and steadfast in the love of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and see great mighty things happen. Marantha!
