Dear ones in Christ,
The God who we worship is a living God. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever. He is almighty in heaven and in earth. He is with till the end of this world and leads us. He has all power in heaven and in earth. He fights for us. There is no one else like the people who are chosen by God. We read in Micah 2:13, “The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the Lord on the head of them.” Our God is very much concerned about his people and he cares for them. So we should trust him and depend upon him. We should remember him in all our ways. Then we will inherit the victory.
What are the things that we should remember?
Remember that Jesus has risen from the dead:
2 Timothy 2:8 says, “Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel.” Our heart may remember many things, and give importance to them. But the utmost important thing we should remember is that Jesus Christ was raised from the dead by God.
Remember the day when you came out of Egypt :
In Deuteronomy 16:3, we read, “Thou shalt eat no leavened bread with it, seven days shalt thou eat unleavened bread therewith, even the bread of affliction; for thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt in haste: that thou mayest remember the day when thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt all the days of thy life”. Remember the day when you came out of Egypt as the day of your salvation. We should remember the day when we were delivered from our sins.
Trusting the strength of the weapons and those who protects us:
In Deuteronomy 15:15 we read, “And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt, and the Lord thy God redeemed thee”. We should always remember, how we were under the slavery of sin and Satan, and that God redeemed us through the precious blood of Jesus Christ who is the sacrifice of the Passover.
We should remember the ways of God:
In Deuteronomy 8:2 we read, “And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no”. Remember how God protected us and took care of us in the wilderness during our difficult times.
We should remember that he answers us:
In Deuteronomy 7:9, 10, we read, “Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to thousand generations; And repayeth them that hate him to their face”. Our God answers them that seek him, and is faithful in keeping his covenant. And we should remember that our God repays them that hate him.
We should remember to keep the Sabbath day:
In Deuteronomy 5:15, we read, “And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the Sabbath day.”
We should remember how God delivered us from the bondages of sin and brought us to the Kingdom of His loving Son, and should keep the Sabbath day holy.
Why God raised Jesus from the dead?
Death was not able to hold Jesus:
Acts 2:24 says, “Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it
was not possible that he should be holden of it.”
God raised Jesus to Glorify him and to be a Testimony :
In Acts 3:15, we read, “And killed the prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses”. Jesus showed himself for 40 days after the resurrection. And the Apostles testified the resurrection of Jesus Christ boldly.
God raised Jesus to stop the persecution and troubles:
In Acts 9:4 we read, “And Saul fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutes thou me?” God left Saul to come till Damascus. Then he did not allow him. God does not test us beyond our strength. There is a limit for everything. And he makes a way of escape.
God raised Jesus to fulfill the promise he made to our fathers:
In Acts 13: 32, 33, we read, “And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers, God hath fulfilled the same to us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, thou art my son, this day have I begotten thee. ”
Jesus Christ is our intercessor:
In Romans 8:34, we read, “Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us”. He sat at the right hand of the Father, and He intercedes for us.
We receive the forgiveness of sins and deliverance:
In Acts 13: 37-39, we read, “But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption. Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the Law of Moses.” As God raised Jesus from the dead, we receive the forgiveness of sins. And we are made righteous.
Through resurrection, a great grace has come on us:
In Acts 4:33, we read, “And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection
of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.”
Even as we witness the resurrection of Jesus Christ, a great grace comes upon us.
My dear friends! We should believe that God has raised Jesus from the dead. We should remember this daily, and on the Holy Day, we should glorify God for redeeming us from the sins and worship him. He is at the right hand of the Father and is interceding for us. He delivers us from the temptations and persecutions. He never let us tested beyond our strength. Because of His resurrection, we receive the forgiveness of sins and deliverance. When we witness the resurrection of Jesus Christ, a great grace comes upon us. Let us live a life of witness to his resurrection! May the name of the Lord be glorified always! Amen!
