“But thou, Beth-lehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting”. (Micah 5:2).
This Bible verse very clearly says as a prophecy about the birth of Jesus Christ, where he will born and that he will be the ruler of Israel. According to the prophecies of the prophets Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem. Not only he was born in this world, but he gave his life for our sins. Jesus Christ gave himself as a living sacrifice, provided the forgiveness for our sins, rose again and is seated in heaven. Jesus Christ will come back again. When He comes back again the second time, he will come as a King to rule. One part of the verse which prophet Micah told fulfilled very specifically during the first coming of Jesus Christ. In the same way, the next part of that verse which says he will be the ruler in Israel will be fulfilled during His second coming. Jesus Christ is going to come very soon as a King to rule over this world. Let us call the King Jesus to come soon.
Prince of the kings of the earth.
“And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood.” (Revelation 1:5)
Bible says that Jesus Christ is the prince of the kings of the earth. We should understand one thing very clearly. The reign belongs to God. During the days of Prophet Daniel, God clearly showed this to Nebuchadnezzar. God brings down the kings and make kings. It is very clearly written in the book of Prophet Daniel.
“… The most High ruleth in the kingdom of men….” (Daniel 4:32)
Jesus Christ rules in the kingdom of men in this world. So only, Bible says that we should pray for the princes and the kings of the nation. When we pray God does His work. When the saints in a nation pray God does His works in that nation. Our God wants to rule over His people.
There are many governments in this world. It is Jesus who controls and rules over them. So when the saints pray, God help the government to rule righteously. So only until the saints live in this world, there is no way for the antichrist, the son of perdition to rule over this world. The prayer of the saints increases the grace for reign of God in this world. Not only that, God himself rules over this world. During the thousand year reign, the saints will rule along with Jesus Christ. This is the inheritance of the saints. So let us be of clear mind and pray for the nation. If we do not pray for nation, it is sin in itself. So let us realise the responsibility we have in Jesus Christ and pray for the nation.
God wants to rule over Israel
During the time when Samuel was a Prophet, the people of Israel asked for a king. On hearing this Samuel became very sad. But God told Samuel that they have not rejected you, but have rejected me.
“And the Lord said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them”. (1 Samuel 8:7).
Here we can see the grief of God. It was acceptable when the people of Israel asked for a king. But this saddened the heart of God and He told this to Samuel. At that time, God made Saul a good young man as the king over Israel. But Saul did not do the will of God. Then God chose David and moulded him and made him the king over entire Israel. And God testified about David that he is a man after God’s own heart. Through David God ruled over Israel. But after David, many kings who came to the throne did not please God. So a prophecy was given that a prince will rise up from the generation of David to be the ruler in Israel. In the same way, Jesus Christ was born according the words of the Prophets. Now He will come as a King to rule over the world in His second coming. What a great joy!
We, who celebrate the first coming of Jesus Christ, should realise that His second coming is very nigh and prepare ourselves for His second coming! Hallelujah!
