Dear ones in Christ,
Apostle Paul says, according to the Grace of God given to us, as a wise master builder we should build upon the foundation which is Jesus Christ. Everyone should see how he builds upon that foundation. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work abides which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If a man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
Moreover, Jesus Christ himself said in the beatitudes, “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man which built his house upon a rock. And the rain descended and the floods came and the winds blew and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock”. It is very difficult to build upon a rock. But it will stand firm. If our house is built upon the rock which is Jesus Christ, it will stand firm. If we build upon Christ with gold, silver and precious stones, on the day declaration, we will stand still. And will receive the reward also. Wiseman Solomon says in Proverbs 30:24, 26, “There are four things which are little upon the earth, but they are exceeding wise: the conies are but a feeble folk, yet they make their houses in the rocks”. The one who does according to the will of my Father who is in heaven only will enter heaven – the one who hears these sayings of mine and them will be the wise man who builds his house upon the rock. The man does not do the will of God cannot build his house upon the rock which is Jesus Christ. Moreover in Luke 12:47 we read, “And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes”.
Let us see what are the things needed to build a house upon the rock:
We need patience:
In James 1:2-4, Apostle James says, “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” Sometimes we should suffer for doing good things. We get evil for doing good things. Sometimes we face hatred for showing love. In Luke 21:19, Jesus says, “In your patience possess ye your souls“. We need patience more. In Hebrews 10:36 we read, “For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise”. In his letter to the church of Rome, Apostle Paul writes in Romans 5:3-5, “And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience”.
We should do what we teach:
In James 3:1, we read, “My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation”. We should do what we teach. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.
In Matthew 23:2, 3, we read, “The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat: All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not”. We should examine ourselves. If we do not the things we teach, we will be condemned. We shall receive great condemnation. We stand in the front to teach. But are we doing the things we teach?
You bless others:
In 1 Peter 3:9, we read, “Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing: knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing”. We should refrain from evil. We should keep our tongue from evil and our lips from speaking guile. In Matthew 5:44, 45 we read, “Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; that ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven”.
Do unto the Lord heartily:
In Colossians 3:23, 24, 25, we read, “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ but he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons”. Whatever we do, whether we give for the Lord, or serve the Lord, we should do them whole heartedly.
My dear friends! We are the wise master builders who construct the building upon the Lord Jesus Christ. We should build a beautiful palace upon Him. We should build with the living stones. We should build with gold, silver and precious stones. When our work is tried and it remains, we shall receive the reward. So let us be patient, do what we teach, and should bless our enemies and those who curse us. We should pray. We should keep our tongue from evil. And let us build a beautiful palace upon the rock, which is Jesus Christ with the precious stones such as, doing the work of God heartily and doing righteously, and let us be accepted of the Lord! Hallelujah!
