“I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty” (Revelation – 1:8). The word Alpha is a first alphabet in Greek language. And Omega is the last alphabet in Greek language. That is, Jesus Christ is the beginning and the end. God created everything in Jesus Christ. That is the beginning. He created the heaven and the earth. Then he created man in His own image after His own likeness. Even though it was a good beginning, when man sinned, the sin and immorality started increasing in the earth which God created. So God sent His only begotten son Jesus Christ to this world to redeem the man from sin and to fulfil His purpose for which He created mankind.
When God sent His son for us, the sinners, His love was revealed. Then only the mankind, even the angels realised the truth that God loves us so much. God showed His love upon us, the sinners. Jesus Christ came to this world and gave his life for man. This is priceless love. When God the Father sent His son Jesus Christ to this world, His love was manifested.
1 John – 4:9 says, “In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him”.
God love was manifested. What shall we say about the extremeness of that love, when Jesus Christ came to this world and gave His life for us! We are saved just because of the love God has shown on us, we got deliverance, we are redeemed. Just because of this only, the words, “Jesus loves you” has touched the hearts of millions. His love has touched you also. We accepted His love and are trying to obey him and live a life pleasing to him. Jesus Christ started our salvation through His love. We cannot explain the love Jesus Christ shown toward us by our mouth. Such great is His love. We cannot do anything equal to it.
1 John – 2:5 says, “But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him”.
So the signs of God’s love perfected in us are, we love Jesus Christ, we walk according to his commands, and we will love our brethren. And the Bible says, anyone who doesn’t have such love, does not know God.
Jesus Christ loved His disciples unto the end.
“Now before the feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end”. (John – 13:1).
Jesus Christ loved his disciples. Just as Jesus loved his disciples while he was in this world, the same way, even after been taken away from this world, he loved them. Just before Jesus left this world, he talked about many things with his disciples openly. Jesus talked with his disciples very lovingly about the heaven, the heavenly abode, the Holy Spirit and regarding his coming back for his disciples.
“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also”. (John – 14:1-3)
Jesus Christ comforted his troubled disciples. Jesus Christ lovingly talked with them as they were troubled thinking that they will see Jesus no more in this earth. He gave a promise to his disciples. I will come back again and I will gather you to myself. What a great joy! Yes! Jesus Christ will come again for us. When he comes on the clouds, he will gather his children and will take them to heaven. He will be glad to show the mansions he has prepared for his children. What a joy! What a gladness! Yes! As Jesus Christ has loved us to the end, he will come upon the clouds once again. He will receive us to himself. We cannot think or explain the greatness of His love. Let us give thanks, praise, honour and glory to Jesus Christ for the love he is showing upon us.
