This is a true incident that took place many years ago.
One Summer afternoon, a boy wanted to swim in an unused swimming pool at the back of his house.
The boy ran and jumped into the pool without his mother’s prior permission. He started to swim and reached the middle of the pool. He hadn’t noticed a big alligator coming towards him.
The mother searched for her son everywhere and suddenly her blood froze on seeing her son and the alligator in the same pool swimming. The alligator was nearing him. Rushing towards the swimming pool, with tears on her eyes, with loud voice asked her son to come immediately out of the swimming pool.
The deadly alligator caught the boy’s leg, the beloved mother caught hold of her son’s hand and tried to pull him out of the pool. A great tug of war was going on between the mother and the alligator. The mother used all her strength to pull him ashore.
But the crocodile pulled him into the water with great force. The shouts and screams of the mother and the son were heard by a farmer who was driving his vehicle near that area. He came towards the direction of the sound and saw the mother trying her best to save her son from the alligator. The farmer shot the alligator dead with his gun. The boy survived after the treatment in the hospital for several weeks. His legs were severely injured because of alligator’s bite. On his arms were found deep nail wounds caused by his beloved mother when she grabbed him to save from the clutches of the deadly beast.
When the boy was recouping in the hospital, journalists interviewed him regarding the injures he got in the alligator attack. The boy raised his pants and showed the serious injuries on his legs caused by the alligator. As he was narrating the incident to the journalists, he showed the arms and said proudly, “These wounds are very precious to me because it shows my mother’s love. My mother struggled very hard to pull me out of the alligator’s mouth. While doing so, I received deep nail wounds.”
Dear beloved in Christ, we have got many wounds and scars in our lives in the past and in the present. In the midst of these struggles our Lord Jesus Christ saved us from many dangers and accidents and ailments just like the mother who saved her son from alligator. When we face challenges and problems, our God holding His hand and protecting us and safe guarding us from falling into the hands of satan. God’s love doesn’t fail. You are loved perfectly and unconditionally by God. Let us praise and thank our Lord Jesus Christ for His mercy and grace and unfailing love that delivered us from harm, sickness and accidents.
